Our Story
The Center for Teaching and Learning Mathematics (CTLM) is committed to helping teachers, students, and parents make sense of mathematics. Established nearly 20 years ago, the Center has responded to the educational needs of mathematics teachers in Iowa and in schools connected to military bases around the world.
The Center also responded when the Department of Defense requested resources for the parents of military children as they moved from base to base and transitioned from school to school. The Center developed online videos and supplementary resources that went beyond mathematics content to include literacy, early childhood, and parenting students on the autism spectrum.
